In a just one day, the Mechlings will be heading up north. Where you ask? Well, I believe we will see this sign through our windows
We will also be meeting her
And, we will (try to) walk and drive through the streets of this crazy, never sleeping city.
Well now that I really look at it, from this picture, the famous buzzing city looks very calm.
There is a very precious and nearly outrageous story behind the birth of this trip.
And so it goes:
Once upon a time, a husband and father of 7 worked in a Volkswagen dealership. This dealership called for many dealer trades. One day, Mr.M received word that a dealer trade had come about and needed two drivers. He agreed to embark on the mission and brought along Mrs.M who has much experience in the dealer trade department.
Setting of on this day-long D.T., Mr and Mrs began scanning through the radio. Country music filled the car, and they stopped scanning. You see, Mr.M likes,no, loves country music. Mrs. M.....well, she likes it most of the time.
Country songs can be very powerful. It can effect a person in so many different emotions. The two emotions that wore on the couple were laughing, and crying. The one artist that affected them the most with these emotions, was Brad Paisley. Mom actually liked Brad Paisley's music after that D.T. He gave them a most memorable D.T.
I was told that their favorite song of his from that day that almost brought car wrecks because their eyes were so blurred with tears, was "Then".
Get your tissues, It gets them every time.
-Fast Forward-
After a day in the life of a truck driver, they're home and resting. But the songs from that day were still playing.
The next day, Mrs.M begins to research. She listened to many of Brad Paisley's songs for a good portion of the day. She was hooked. Then Mrs.M got an idea. Mr.M's birthday was coming very soon. "I think a Brad Paisley concert would be a perfect gift!", she said.
She looked up tour dates. The closest event to Mr.M's birthday was at Madison Square Garden. Tickets were available and cheap. This could work.
After some pushing to put incredible memories before incredible costs, Mrs.M purchased two tickets, at Madison Square Garden.
We live in GA. So, this was definitely going to be a trip. After comparing plane ticket costs and driving costs, Mrs.M chose drive. Then she decided that this should be a trip, with everyone.
So here we are, one day away till all nine of us take-off on an incredible, week-long trip that all began, with one song. Like I said, country music
can be very powerful.
I will thrive to post daily with pictures and stories. I'm positive there will be numerous:)
