It's Nearly Time

It's nearly time.
Nearly time to put Baby Jesus in his manger beneath the tree.
(I know, his manger probably did not have flowers on it, but this has been put out every Christmas so, it's tradition! We love it:)
Nearly time to set out the cookies and milk.
Nearly time to sit together and read a Christmas story as everyone dozes off to the beautiful words being read.
Nearly time to put on those new pj's.
Nearly time to snuggle together in one room and dream about the day to come.

Nearly time to wake up,
on Christmas Day.

But before that time, things had to be prepped, wrapped, and baked.
Which brings us to these pictures:

I found myself wearing this all day.

And these guys helping me bake my Italian Sprinkle Cookies. (the name for those just doesn't do any justice.)

We also made the dough for this army:

Which #1 cut, dotted with some color, and lined at attention.

Gingerbread with a smidge of Home Alone (our "family movie" and our go-to for great quotes;) is quite perfect.

Then she showed off her work.

Then it was time to match up jammies to child,
(These are not his Christmas pj's. This picture cracks me up though;)

eat our scrumptious grilled cheeses, and gather around together for the reading of Christmas stories.

Some gave into those drooping eyes,
and others stayed attentive for the end of the reading.

Then books were closed.
Fireplace cooled.
(After being admired of course;)

Treats out.

Everyone snug in beds.

Some helpers of the big man stayed up and snipped and clipped and taped into the wee hours of the night while others were already asleep
dreaming.

And some stayed up just a bit longer listening to Christmas songs as they drifted off.
And then,
all was quiet.

All was baked.
All was bought.
All was wrapped.
All wishes were wished.
All was done.
All was ready.
It was nearly time,
for Christmas Day!

See you in the morning:)
