1,000 Faces

Continuing with what inspires, motivates, encourages, helps, reminds or, is just totally good looking...etc...
I remembered this:

Music is a miraculous thing. It's huge, and powerful. When used properly and for the right reasons, music is such a great, gift. It can do so much. Just 1 song can do so much. I have a true story of just how powerful 1 song can be.
Remember this?
Music can make pick an emotion to catch you on, and put you through a roller coaster of that emotion. Whether it be a sentimental tearjerker that "gets ya right' there" song, an all around fun song, a memory song you remember hearing at a time in your life at this place when this was happening, or 1 you grew up with, the power of it is always there.
Sometimes we don't even know it, but music does a lot for us. Imagine a music-less world. More like, imagine a lyric-less world. Country music is the greatest when it comes to lyrics. Meaningful lyrics. It is, I think, the most powerful of genres and also the best when it comes to just all around, good music. Country music isn't all about notes
but words.
It gets it. It gets life. It's so...real.
It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you see, and helps you remember and forget. It's just amazing.
I've noticed that most of the country music I like won my support and likeness not for the music and catchy tone, but for the words.
I can't say I've gotten emotional for any pop or rock song. Ever. Because, those genres are all about the music. To them it's music 1st, words...? "Oh yea. That's right, you gotta have words in songs. Throw this in there. Yea...that'll do."
Country music on the other hand, is the total opposite of that mind set and that's what I love and respect most about it.
Before about a good month ago, I had never heard of Randy Montana. I 1st saw him on a youtube ad for Vevo promoting the premiere of his 1,000 Faces music video. Recently finding I do actually have a little country music side, I bought in and watched. This is a grow-on-you song because at first, it wasn't much to me. I thought it was ok, maybe free download link-able, but really, it was just another song. Wrong!
I suddenly couldn't get this song out of my head! I had to have it! I couldn't find a link for it anywhere and it drove me nuts!
(Yes, yes,....I'm bad. I rarely buy a song but have hundreds of songs...What? How? HA!...umm....anyways....;)
I went on a crazy search looking for this song and got SO desperate, I gave in to itunes, and bought the song. I did. I loved it that much. Yea. (and really? Could you not buy a song from that?)
Answer: no.;)
Now? I have listened to it....has to be close to 100 times. The big dealo about this song? It's also known as my "happy" song. Oddly named by Taylor when I was telling her what it did for me during a certain...well...a turning point I was going through. I jokingly said that "this song pushed me through and keeps me through". Along with God, prayer, and family of course, this song is my instant boost when I need it to be. It's the weirdest, coolest and actually funniest thing but literally, when I find myself slinking back or down and...well into a slightly less than ecstatic feeling, I whip out Randy and just like that! i'm good:)
Why? Well, it's a reminder. An encouraging reminder. Though most of the times the words in the song have nothing to do with the situation I'm going through, It still never fails to do it's deed for me. I think it's like when something happens,(an event, a certain occasion, certain turning point, moment, etc.) and there's that song that was playing at just the right moment. That 1st song you went to or was just there. May have nothing to do with anything, but it was there, and you remember what it's purpose was. What it did, and you remember it for that, always. Whether it made you laugh when you needed it to, brought you words you needed, made you cry when you needed it to, or did all of the above simultaneously, you remember it. That song is this song, for me. It did actually make me do all those simultaneously, and for that, I love it. The moment I needed something, it was the something. This something reminds me every time I hear it, of what was blowing through my head at the turning point moment. It always brings me right back if I ever forget. It's like my own little time machine, (mac talk here. Sorry PC users;) always there to set me back with the push of play. It's weird, but it works. It's weird how things work like that. But, some of the best things are weird, and that's what makes it uniquely...awesome:)
I really hope to see Randy Montana go far. I'd really love to hear more from him too. (Like...a cd?!:) 1 song did this much, I can't imagine a whole cd! I also kinda wish he could know allllll I just rambled on about, and how much this song, his song, means to me. Would that be weird?
Lemme picture it:
I finally meet him, open my mouth and spill out how his song is my "happy" moment song that made me laugh/cry when I heard it during a certain tough time and I at first thought it wasn't that great, now I'm obsessed with it and...and.....
...yea, that might be weird. I'll need to come up with something a tad bit more...subtle. That may be good.
In the meantime, thank you Randy Montana. You gave me that song, my song, which gave me so much you may never even know. It's the song that keeps on giving and I love it.
In closing, here are the lyrics:)
The lyrics to that something that has nothing to do with anything, but always do something when nothing does anything.
(Ha! How's that for getting wordy!?)

1,000 Faces-Randy Montana

There's brunettes, blonde girls
Blue jeans, string of pearls
Take you on a trip around the world girls
Love has a 1,000 faces
Love has a 1,000 faces

There's debutantes, drama queens
Glued to Bride magazine
Half caff, two pump, no whip in the Coffee Bean
Love has a 1,000 faces
Love has a 1,000 faces
But I see you
Before I ever knew you
Before I ever knew you
I dreamed of you
I dreamed of you

There's small town, itty-bitty
Tomboy in a big city
Turn your head when the light ain't red
Stop traffic, kind of pretty
Love has a 1,000 faces
Love has a 1,000 faces
But I see you
Before I ever knew you
Before I ever knew you
I dreamed of you
I dreamed of you, yeah

You're a storm at night, thunder crashing
Mystery, full of passion
Quiet as a Sunday morning
Change without any warning
Love has a 1,000 faces
Love has a 1,000 faces
But I see you
I see you
I see you
Baby, I see you
And I see you
Before I ever knew you
Before I ever knew you
Before I ever knew you
Before I ever knew you

I see you
